Dextr AI Raises $6.7 Mn To Build AI Agents For Hospitality Sector, Plans India Expansion

Dextr AI, a startup building specialised AI agents for the hospitality industry, has raised $6.7 Mn (approximately ₹64.2 Cr) in a seed funding round led by Elevation Capital, with participation from Foundation Capital. The company will use the fresh capital to accelerate product development, expand its team, and scale its AI deployments into new markets, including India.
Founded in 2025 by Sajid Shariff and Scott Arnold, Dextr AI develops AI agents that automate tasks across reservations, guest management, back-office operations, staffing, sales, and marketing for hotels and other hospitality businesses. The startup claims to currently process more than 1 Mn interactions per month across hundreds of properties.
The AI agent suite for hotels
Dextr AI offers a set of four specialised AI agents tailored to different operational needs in hospitality. The Daisy agent handles voice-based reservations, booking changes, and upselling in more than 90 languages. Alfred manages guest requests, complaints, and contactless check-ins. Manny focuses on staff rostering, task allocation, productivity tracking, and overtime management. Cosmo supports direct bookings through AI-powered search, targeted marketing campaigns, and re-engagement of past guests.
The company follows what it calls a “forward-deployed” model, where its AI strategists and engineers work directly with hospitality businesses to identify tasks for automation and integrate its agents into existing operations. Dextr currently has a team of nearly 20 employees, spread across India and the US, including AI product builders, strategists, and engineers.
Current reach and client base
Dextr AI said it serves hundreds of properties across the US, Canada, the UK, and other European markets. Its client base includes franchised properties operating under major hotel brands such as Hilton, Wyndham, Best Western, and IHG. The startup also claims to process payments through voice-based reservations, handling tens of millions of dollars in transactions monthly on behalf of its customers.
India expansion strategy
As part of its India expansion plans, Dextr AI is specifically targeting operational gaps that are common in the country’s hospitality sector. These include missed calls from potential guests, unanswered online enquiries, staffing shortages, and unattended guest requests. By deploying its AI agents, the company aims to help Indian hotels and hospitality businesses improve response times and operational efficiency without significantly increasing headcount.
India’s hospitality industry has been increasingly adopting digital tools to manage rising guest expectations and competition. Dextr’s entry into the market comes at a time when hotels are looking for cost-effective ways to automate routine tasks and improve guest experiences.
Investor context and broader trend
For Elevation Capital, Dextr AI represents another bet on AI-led business automation. In October last year, the investor led GreyLabs AI’s ₹85 Cr Series A round, which also saw participation from Z47 and angel investors. GreyLabs focuses on financial institutions, offering voice agents and speech analytics to automate contact centre operations. Elevation also led a $6 Mn funding round in Adopt AI, which helps users automate software workflows through text commands.
These investments span both industry-specific applications, such as hospitality and financial services, and horizontal tools designed to automate workflows across businesses. The pattern suggests that investors are betting on AI agents that can handle complex, industry-specific tasks rather than generic chatbots.

What this means for Indian hospitality businesses
For hotel owners and operators in India, Dextr AI’s entry offers a potential solution to long-standing operational challenges. Many hotels, especially mid-sized and franchised properties, struggle with missed calls, slow response times, and staffing constraints. AI agents that can handle reservations in multiple languages, manage guest requests, and automate back-office tasks could help these businesses compete more effectively with larger chains.
However, the startup faces competition from established hospitality tech providers and other AI automation companies targeting the same space. Adoption will depend on how well Dextr’s agents integrate with existing property management systems and whether Indian hoteliers are willing to trust AI with guest-facing interactions.
