LinkedIn Leads Social Platforms in AI-Generated Long-Form Content, Study Finds

A new analysis by Pangram indicates that LinkedIn has become the leading platform for AI-generated long-form content, with 41% of posts exceeding 250 words flagged as AI-written. This places LinkedIn significantly ahead of other major social media platforms in the proliferation of automated content.

The study, which scanned over one million posts across five platforms between April and June 2026, found that approximately one in four longer social media posts overall contained AI-generated text. While LinkedIn only accounted for a third of all scanned posts, it represented nearly two-thirds of all detected AI content.

Prevalence Across Platforms

The Pangram analysis provided a snapshot of AI content generation across different social media environments. While LinkedIn showed the highest rate, other platforms also exhibited significant AI presence. On X/Twitter, nearly half of long-form articles were identified as either entirely AI-generated or AI-assisted.

In contrast, Substack recorded the lowest rate of AI-generated long-form content, at around 10%. Reddit replies were largely human-written, with 98% penned by individuals, though standalone Reddit posts showed a higher incidence of AI-generated text.

Pangram utilized its Chrome extension and the Pangram 3 detection model for the study. The company asserts that its detection model has a false positive rate of 0.01%, implying high accuracy in identifying human-written content.
